Why the Workshop:

The Chatbot Co-Creation Workshop is where all the magic happens! We want to turn the GroSafe chatbot into an effective tool in helping and supporting children to navigate through the online environment safely, while also hoping to empower young people like you when you're online. Your thoughts and ideas will guide us in making it fun and effective for learning about online safety.

What will happen:

At the workshop,we are inviting you to engage with our self-developed GroSafe Chatbot and provide your valuable feedback accordingly. Your input will be like the secret ingredient that makes GroSafe work well – a mix of your preferences, opinions, and suggestions to shape it up just right.

Before the Trial

  • Your parent or guardian will need to sign a consent form so you can take part.
  • You'll need to have your own device (like a laptop or tablet) to use the chatbot.
  • You'll be added to a group session run by the GroSafe team.
  • Before you begin, we'll give you clear instructions and a guide to help you understand how to use the chatbot.

During the Trial

  • Phase 1: Scenario-Based Interaction

  1. You'll be given a short scenario that describes an online situation (for example, someone you've been playing games with asking for private photos).
  2. You'll then chat with the GroSafe chatbot as if the situation is happening to you. The goal is to see how the chatbot helps you figure out what to do and where to go for help.
  3. Afterward, you'll give us feedback by rating how the chatbot did—how helpful, safe, and easy it was to use.

  • Phase 2: Free Interaction Session

  1. Next, you'll be able to explore the chatbot on your own using a guide that shows what it can do.
  2. You can ask your own questions and see how it responds—this helps us see how the chatbot works with real questions.
  3. At the end, you'll fill out a short feedback form about your experience.

What you should do:

We want to hear what you really think, so no need to hold back. Your honest thoughts matter, and there are no right or wrong answers. Feel free to express yourself and enjoy the activities while you're at it!

What about privacy:
Your privacy and safety are our top priorities. Everything we chat about stays between us, unless otherwise required by law, and your personal info is locked up tight. We will give you a ID number so that your name won't be used on our notes. One important exception to this rule is if you inform us about any significant harm being done to you. In such cases, we would have to report the situation to relevant agencies, such as TUSLA or An Garda Síochána.

How do I  join: TBD

What if you changed your mind:
