
GroSafe Real World Trial
Control Group Instructions
Control Group: The participants in the Control Group of the GroSafe Real World Trial Programme will not be playing the game.
Instructions:
- Connect with the GroSafe team on dedicated social-media and gaming platforms.
- Add a shortcut to the reporting application on your personal phone. Click here for instructions.
- Contact with Kamran through email to verify if all necessary preparation steps are completed.
- Participants should use social media and play video games as normal.
- Expect GroSafe team to reach out for a survey/call interview at the end of the trial.
Important Notes:
Our researchers will attempt to interact with your child in the following ways:
- Send initial message on social/gaming platform
- Send connection/friend request
- Request to move to a private/encrypted channel
- Request to share personal information
- Request to share a selfie photo (a request of a photo of any other type will not be from the GroSafe team).
We will never ask to meet in real life. If your child is asked for a meeting, this is not the GroSafe team, and they should inform you immediately.
A participant will never be asked to share inappropriate content. If a participant shares inappropriate content without being asked, the following steps will be taken:
- The participant will be informed that the content is not appropriate.
- You will be informed.
- The participant will be offered support.
- An incident report will be recorded.
- Relevant authorities will be informed, if necessary.
- The content will be deleted.
