Hi there! We're excited to invite you to take part in this event, where you'll help us make the internet a safer place for teens like you.

Event Details
When: March 13th, 2026
Where: TUD, Blanchardstown Campus, Dublin 15

What is GroSafe?

GroSafe is a project all about keeping kids and teens safe online. We're working with experts, teachers, and young people like you to create tools that teach how to stay safe on the internet and avoid online dangers like grooming. Our goal is to help teens recognise and deal with threats online. To do this, we're creating fun and interactive learning tools, like educational games, and we want your input to make sure they work for people your age.

What Will You Do at the Event?

At the event, you'll get to play the GroSafe training video game and provide your feedback. You will also do a short test both before and after playing the game. These tests will be completely anonymous; we use them to check if playing this game makes you better able to recognize grooming signs.

This event is designed for teams of at least 2 people. Each person who completes the event will get one half of our flag.

Before doing this event, you will have to provide your own assent. We'll have a table set up with devices for you to do so. If you're under 18, we will also double-check that you have obtained consent to participate from your parent; if you haven't done so yet, we will do our best to help you with this as well. After providing assent, you'll receive a GroSafe sticker, which you can take to the activity room to show that you're checked in. After completing the activity and providing feedback (which will be done in a MS form with both multiple-choice and free text questions), you can return the sticker to us to receive your flag!

What Do We Want From You?

We want your honest opinions: The things you like, the things you don't like, and any ideas you have for making things better.

Privacy and Safety

Your privacy is super important to us. We won't share what you say with anyone else unless we legally have to. For example, if you tell us something that makes us think someone is harming you or putting you in danger, we would need to report it to organisations like TUSLA (child protection services) or An Garda Síochána. To keep things anonymous, we'll assign everyone an ID number instead of using names in our notes.

Do You Have to Take Part?

Nope! Taking part is completely up to you. If you don't want to join, that's totally fine. If you do join but change your mind later, that's okay too, you can stop anytime. If you're under 18, we'll need your parent or guardian's permission first. We'll also ask for your agreement (called assent) before starting.

Have Questions?

If there's anything you're unsure about or want to ask, feel free to ask us at the desk or email us at: grosafe@tudublin.ie Thanks so much for helping us make the internet safer!
